So, you want to put a bit of code on your website which automatically displays the year using the ASP programming language, how do you do it?

Well first of all you need to make sure you can run ASP on your website. If you can then use the code below to display the current year on your webpage.

<%= year(now) %>

You could also use the following to place a © copyright sign in front of the date.

© <%= year(now) %>

Its handy to put a date on your website to show users and potentially search engines its up to date or has been updated or to show an up to date copyright symbol.

Hope this helps you.

ASP stands for Active Server Pages and was at one time Microsoft’s prominent internet programming language.
