Mercedes A-Class, A140, A160, A170, A190, A210 Evolution, W168.
The A-Class is the smallest car in the Mercedes-Benz range to sport the Mercedes Badge. The first generation (Mercedes model no W168) was introduced in 1997 and a this was replaced in 2004 by the W169. The orginal W168 model was a five door car available in short or long wheel base whereas the w169 is available as a three or five door version.
The original W168 model came in four petrol models and two diesel models, the petrol in 1.4, 1.6, 1.9 and 2.1 litre engines while the diesel came in 1.6 and 1.7 litre engines. Special models included the piccadilly which had special trim options.
With a revamp in 2005, mercedes introduced a new range of engines ranging from 1.5 litres to a 2 litre turbo model.
