Botallack Mine
The photos on this page where taken whilst on holiday in Cornwall.
The Botallack areas of Cornwall where heavily mined in this and the last century and there are mine workings and abandoned buildings all over this area, however despite this it is now one of the most beautiful places to walk and enjoy your holiday. In my opinion anyway!
If you are ever visiting Cornwall and want to see some stunning views and industrial heritage then I can heartily recommend the walk from Cape Cornwall to Pendeen which is a distance of about 4 miles and a steady pace will take about 2 hours.
The mines around Botallack and Levant are both worthy of a closer look and for those just wanting a look see there is plenty of parking close to the Botallack mine area.
The mine buildings you can see on the cliff edge are the Crown mine, those further up the hill are Wheal Owles and Wheal Martyn.

Botallack
Found this by chance - absolutely wonderful. I have some Cornish blood in me. Miss the area immensely. Know the area pretty well. Your photographs bring so much back. It really is a part of our British heritage.
