ISO Rating

International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
Another thing to take into account is the ISO rating of your potential purchase. The ISO is the sensitivity to light of the camera. When you buy a 35mm film it will have the ISO rating of the film printed on it. The higher the number the more sensitive the film is to light, this is the same with digital cameras. On some cameras this number is not quoted, this does not mean the camera is not good, but some cameras have software inside which sort out the ISO of the image you are taking depending on the light available. Most newer cameras will have the ISO rating included in the specifications.
